Add pasta to boiling water and cook to taste. Add bacon or pancetta and a sprinkling of pepper, and fry until golden and crisp. Immediately add frozen peas and stir for a minute or two. Because this creamy pasta with bacon and peas has graced my table at least once a month for the past five years.

  9. Add the pasta and stir continuously for about three minutes. Then, stir occasionally until the pasta is al dente. I have found this is about 2 minutes before recommended cooking time.
  10. Drain pasta and combine with sauce. Add Parmesan cheese and parsley, if desired.
