- Prepare 1 tsp Red chilli powder

I am a big big fan of Tamil nadu style thayir vadai. I love this South Indian style dahi vada more than sambar vadai & rasa vadai. My FIL used to buy thayir vadai/Curd vada ( Perugu vada in Telugu) from hotel Saravana bhavan and Guptha sweets whenever we visit Salem.. Notes : Never use sour curd-yogurt for making thayir vada.
Steps to make Curd vada (dahi vada):
- Take a gram flour in a bowl add garlic ginger paste,red chilli powder,salt,turmeric and soda and add little water to make a paste. Dont make paste too thick.
- Then take a pan add oil and make vadas one by one.then keep it aside.
- Take another pan add oil add cumin seeds,curry leaves and dry chillies.keep aside.
- Take a large bowl add curd salt and garlic ginger paste in it then whisk it add little water in it. Then add all vadas in it. Then add curry leaves oil into it.
My FIL used to buy thayir vadai/Curd vada ( Perugu vada in Telugu) from hotel Saravana bhavan and Guptha sweets whenever we visit Salem.. Notes : Never use sour curd-yogurt for making thayir vada. When you add curd-yogurt to soaked vada, make sure its not too hot. Curd Vadai - or Dahi Vada as it is called in Hindi, is famous in South India. Vadas are rich in protein and make for snacks that can be taken anytime.
