Desi style of making pasta. turned into Upma. Pasta upma or macaroni upma is a tasty & an easy recipe to make. It is a tasty South Indian I have cooked the pasta exactly in the way upma is made and hence the name pasta upma or macroni. Semiya upma is prepared from vermicelli, mixed vegetables and other spices.

- Make ready 1 cup pasta, boiled al dente

Instructions to make Pasta Upma:
- Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds. After it stops spluttering, add the urad dal, onion, ginger, green chilies and curry leaves.
- Saute till light brown. Add the veggies and all the dry spices. Give it a stir and add 1/2 cup water. Cover and simmer till the veggies are cooked.
- Now add the boiled pasta. Stir fry for 2 minutes and switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve for breakfast / snack along with some chutney.
You can add any vegetables of your choice to. The upma recipe I share is adapted from my mom's recipe and continues to be a favorite in my home. Upma, uppumavu or uppittu is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent, most common in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu,Karnataka, Maharashtrian, Odia and Sri Lankan Tamil breakfast, cooked as a thick porridge from dry-roasted semolina or coarse rice flour. In Andhra they call this upma 'Bombay rava' upma. It is extremely soft and spongy in texture.
