4. Cover and cook on a slow heat for about 20 min. Stir occasionally.
5. Remove the lid.
6. Add the remaining butter, salt, sugar, pepper and basil leaves.
7. Cook for 5 more min.
8. The sauce must have reduced to almost 2/3rd or less  of its original volume.
9. Remove from heat.
10. Let it cook and store in an airtight container.
